The Fan Club is for women who are experiencing menopause or peri-menopause who would like to share with others and learn some techniques and approaches to cope better with symptoms.
The Fan Club provides: information, education, sharing, relaxation, listening – all with plenty of tea and biscuits.
The Fan Club is run by qualified counsellors and therapists and explores physical and emotional symptoms of menopause, provides a space for sharing experiences with others and uses tools and techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other forms of group therapy to help you feel better.
We meet on a Saturday morning at Talk Matters in Dunfermline and cover issues such as: hot flushes, night sweats and other physical symptoms; self esteem, relationships and family; sexuality and health; empty nest and changing roles; self-image and positive role models.
Previous participants have rated The Fan Club as enjoyable, helping with symptoms of menopause, friendly and safe environment to share stories and a positive step in managing this stage of life.
Following a successful pilot in 2015, we are now delighted to be able to offer The Fan Club again to women in Fife, thanks to funding from The Women’s Fund for Scotland and on-going support from Talk Matters. It is free of charge and open to women in Fife.
